The TENDED MIND
Anbu + Arivu = Azhagu
Compassion + Wisdom = Flourishing
Three principles. One whole human being.

“Compassion without wisdom cannot guide. Wisdom without compassion cannot heal. Together they become beauty.”
The entire Tended Mind Framework rests upon three interconnected principles, and the relationship between them. Anbu, Arivu, and Azhagu aren't three separate lessons to teach in sequence. They're three qualities that only do their full work when held together, and understanding each one on its own is the first step to understanding why.
♡ Anbu, Compassion
Anbu is more than kindness; it is the fundamental orientation toward the wellbeing of others. In the formation of a human mind, it provides the safety required for growth and the perspective required for moral action.
❁ Azhagu, Beauty
Azhagu is the result of Anbu and Arivu in balance. The flourishing that results when compassion and wisdom are held together. It is the state of natural beauty that occurs when a mind is clear in its perception and compassionate in its purpose.
◉ Arivu, Wisdom
Arivu represents not just intellectual capacity, but the wisdom to apply knowledge well. It is the ability to think critically, to perceive truth, and to understand the mechanisms of the world and the self.
∴ Why Together, Not Separately
Intelligence without compassion is dangerous. Compassion without intelligence is ineffective. Beauty is the evidence that both are present. They are a single ecosystem of growing up.
